Goody has returned to Chapter after some time absent and was able to “fill in.” Bro. Clyde Goody’s wife Sis. Michele Goody is Monto Chapter’s Warder at the present time. Sis. Carmel Goody was unable to be present due to recent surgery.
At Monto’s Australia Day Celebrations Monto’s O.E.S. Chapter were delighted to receive The Australia Day Senior Cultural Award for their Rainbow Debutant Ball. It was held on the 17th November 2012 in conjunction with the Masonic Lodge and the Monal Royal Arch Chapter. These three organisations each received an amount of $353.99 being the profit from this enjoyable event.
Our sincere thanks must go to those willing helpers who assisted with Organising decorations, raffles and “Supper”. It would be very remiss of me not to mention those who assisted with training the “Debs”, teaching dancing and etiquette and holding a “Pamper Day” – many Thanks.
The Decorations on stage at the Ball included the Emblems of each of the 3 organisations involved, The OES Star as made and provided by I.P.W.M. Sis. Pat Bowles and W.M. Sis. Jan Mossman and now adorns our OES Chapter along with the Chair covers for the backs of the Point’s chairs each displaying their individual symbols.
During the past month we were saddened to record the passing of Past Worthy Patron, Bro. Bill Myles, who initiated the idea of encouraging young people by holding a Deb Ball. Bro. Bill Myles, the recipient of numerous Ball Room Dancing Awards shared his expertise with the Debs and their Partners.
